Gallant was born in Shediac Bridge; his Acadian father, Pierre, was the youngest of seven children, whilst his mother, Marilyn (born Scholten), was the child of Dutch immigrants who arrived in the 1950s.[1] He also has two siblings, Melissa and Pierre.
