More information

Tell first studied music (violin and classical guitar) at "conservatoire de musique du Québec" in Val d'Or and Montreal, than studied jazz guitar at "CEGEP St-Laurent" in Montreal. She started writing songs at the age of 12 and signed her first record deal at 18. She was probably the first french Canadian singer song-writer to record exclusively her own songs. "Gilberto", her first hit song was a tribute to Joao Gilberto but it was "Si j'étais un homme" on her third album that made her a popular artist both in Canada and Europe. She moved to Paris in 1983 and now lives in Biarritz, France.
